Tracing back to the company’s founder, the Ng family patriarch, Mr. Ng Kian Chai. In the 1960s, he focused on cultivating local vegetables and fruits. At that time, technology was not yet widespread, and agriculture relied entirely on traditional farming methods. He often remarked that farming was an industry “at the mercy of the weather,” where climate variability and unpredictability directly impacted crop growth and income stability. Durian cultivation was even more challenging, taking anywhere from 5 to 7 years for a tree to grow from seed to bearing fruit, demanding immense perseverance and endurance.

Second-Generation Heads – Ng Kok Heng & Tee Ah Hiok

As Ng Kian Chai grew older, his son and daughter-in-law took on the responsibility of continuing the family business. Ng Kok Heng and Tee Ah Hiok were not content to merely maintain traditional farming. They saw greater market potential and were determined to bring the family’s products to a wider sales platform.The couple transformed the business model, moving beyond single-crop cultivation into wholesale and trading. They built a stable supply chain network, expanding their supplier base to cover durian-rich regions across Malaysia, including Southern Johor, Raub, Penang, and Perak. Their efforts allowed them to wholesale durians throughout Malaysia and into Singapore.

Now in the Third Generation – Ng Boon Khai & Ng Boon Huang. In the hands of the third generation, Ng Boon Khai and Ng Boon Huang have not only inherited their family’s vision but have also integrated their professional backgrounds and modern ideas to expand the durian business from cultivation and wholesale into frozen processing. Through technological innovation and systematic management, they have transformed durians from traditional fresh produce into high-quality frozen products, paving the way to enter broader international markets.
Both brothers graduated as mechanical engineers. However, after graduation, they did not immediately join the family business. Their father encouraged them to first gain experience in other industries, learning about enterprise systems management, cultivation techniques, and various other areas.

Today, elder brother Ng Boon Khai is responsible for the fresh fruit market, plantation management, and wholesale trade, ensuring durian quality and a stable supply.

Younger brother Ng Boon Huang applies his mechanical engineering expertise to optimize and manage processing plant equipment and technology, enhancing production line efficiency and expanding the company’s overseas business.
